Year 3 - One night, two day Osmotherley trip
Year 4 - One night camping experience
Year 5 - One night, two day London trip
Year 6 - Two night, 3 day East Barnby trip
As well as an excellent offer of after school clubs delivered by our support staff, teachers and skilled external professionals, we are very proud of the unique and fantastic extra curricular and enrichment opportunities we provide on top of our National Curriculum.
Drumba!
Drumba's key aim is to inspire all people to participate in and have fun during exercise. Drumba aims to encourage an all inclusive attitude whilst reinforcing positive individual development in both body and mind. Drumba is used at South Kilvington to enhance the music and PE curriculum as well as provide children an exciting opportunity to be active and learn something new!
Forest School with Yorkshire Forest Folk!
Children at South Kilvington will complete 30 forest school sessions throughout their time at our school at Kilburn Woods with a trained Forest School Teacher. Each year group will receive 10 consecutive sessions every second year in years 1, 3 and 5. This ensures that children reinforce and build on their learning from previous sessions and build up the skills over a long period of time linked directly to Forest Schools Association Principles.
Outdoor Learning!
We understand children enjoy being active when learning and enjoy learning outdoors. At South Kilvington every class has at least a 30 minute outdoor learning lesson every week. This learning can be off curriculum and often links to one of the NHS 5 ways to wellbeing. Our outdoor learning area provides a fantastic space surrounded by nature and resources readily available to develop learning opportunities.
