Robins
Hello, my name is Miss McGowan, and I am delighted to be returning to South Kilvington as the new class teacher for Robins. I have been teaching for just over eleven years, during which I have developed extensive knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage. My breadth of experience, from teaching Nursery to Year 1, has really allowed me to understand children’s early development and support them in achieving their dreams.
A child-centred approach to education has been my guiding principle throughout my time in the Early Years. I believe that every child should feel valued, secure and happy at school. I am really looking forward to creating a nurturing learning environment that fosters curiosity and a deep love of learning.
I have a strong passion for literacy and believe that stories in the Early Years are essential for opening new possibilities and expanding children’s imaginations. I value the importance of creating a language-rich environment, as it plays a pivotal role in children’s success and in shaping their understanding of the world around them.
Outside of school, I am very fortunate to live in the heart of the countryside, where I enjoy long walks and staying active. I value spending quality time with friends and family and in my spare time, I enjoy reading, baking and playing the guitar.
